What the estimate leaves out
The figure is GPU time only. Providers also bill for storage, network transfer out of their cloud, public IP addresses and sometimes the CPU and memory attached to the instance. Spot capacity can be reclaimed, so a spot rate rarely runs for a whole month without interruption. Reserved prices need a one- or three-year commitment and are only cheaper if the instance runs most of the time.
